PIANO MAN
Role: Lead Singer/Pianist
Production Info: Feb. 4 - Sep. 28, 2007 (Cruise Production Show)
Choreographer: Jackie Roy
Vocal Director: Keith WilliamsHaving played piano since I was young (but never having practiced the ability to sing and accompany myself), I always watched those vocal artists who could perform at the keyboard with a little envy. Little did I know that Royal Caribbean International would help me conquer the challenge by offering me the Lead Singer role in their production show, Piano Man! This high-energy and jam-packed revue show takes the music of contemporary "piano men" and places them in a series of vignettes: a rockin' Elton John medley set counter-side at a 50s diner, a Billy Joel tribute that takes place under the Brooklyn Bridge, and even a Harold Arlen jazz set (in the style of Harry Connick) that becomes even more elegant high above NYC at the Rainbow Room. During the rehearsal period for the show, I could often be found in the practice room alone late at night working on some of the more difficult passages, but all the hard work paid off with a show that really featured all of my talents!
