THE RELUCTANT DRAGON
Role: Alistair
Production Info: June 17-Aug. 11, 1995 @ Seaside Music Theater
Director: Nona Lloyd
Choreographers: Amy Dixon and Lori Ledvina
Musical Director: Matt ClemensThe Reluctant Dragon was a really clever and well directed children's theatre production that opened up the 1995 Seaside season. The story is a pretty familiar one St. George wants to slay a dragon, but the dragon doesn't want to have anything to do with it . . . so a young boy talks them both into staging a fake duel to appease the townspeople. I played one of those wacky townspeople, and what a motley crew we were! Each of us had individual characters with backstory and subtext and motivation . . . whew! Talk about acting work! We all had a great time, and each one of us had our moment in the spotlight. The kids seemed to really enjoy it . . . and so did we!
