CRAZY FOR YOU!

Director: Dennis Edenfield
Choreographer: Mary Lee DeWitt

Talk about CRAZY . . . we almost didn’t pull this one off! Crazy for You! at the Mac-Haydn Theatre was quite an experience. Mary Lee DeWitt, a previous member of the Broadway company, came into rehearsals to teach us the original choreography. Three problems soon became evident — one, we had less than two weeks to put it all together; two, everything had to be restaged “in the round,” and; three, half of the cast COULDN’T DANCE! But with lots of late-night brush-up rehearsals and good old hard work, we did it. Along with being in the dancing chorus, I played Mingo, the tenor in the singing trio that appear throughout the show. Between the tappin’ and the wailin’, I got quite a workout, but the audiences ate it up. (We were pretty proud of ourselves, too!)
