BRIGADOON
Role: Charlie Dalrymple
Production Info: Aug. 29-Sept. 8, 1996 @ Mac-Haydn Theatre
Director/Choreographer: Dennis Edenfield
Musical Director: Kep KaeppelerBrigadoon was a tough show for me it was our last production of the season (so we were all naturally tired), but it had the most difficult music. As the ever-perky Charlie Dalrymple, I had some of the craziest songs to sing (Bonnie Jean and Come to Me, Bend To Me), and some nights were better than others! I remember one matinee early in the run when my worst nightmare came true . . . the music started and I had NO IDEA what the lyrics were. So . . . I made em up. I was singing lyrics from Les Miserables, Meet Me In St. Louis, anything that would come to my head. Eventually I got back on track, but when I finished the song and went back to the dressing room, there was a note from the director posted to my mirror . . . Ron Alan Jay Lerner called and asked that you not change his lyrics Dennis. I kept the note and put it in my scrapbook to keep me humble!
