Who would have thought that Babes In Toyland would become my bread-and-butter show?? This holiday production at Stamford’s Rich Forum Theatre marked my third trip into the world of Mother Goose and her nursery-rhyme friends, and my second appearance as Roderigo (one of Silas Barnaby’s evil henchmen). In this new “musical-theatre” adaptation of the familiar operetta, the script and score were updated to appeal to contemporary audiences. As a result, this version of Roderigo looked and sounded like the mad scientist “Doc Brown” from Back to the Future! With a full orchestra and clever staging, it was a fun time for the whole family! | ||
