BABES IN TOYLAND
Role: Roderigo
Production Info: October 27, 2001 @ Avery Fisher, Lincoln Center
Conductor: Dino Anagnost
Director: Peter Flynn
Choreographer: Devanand JankiIt was so much fun to be involved with the 1999 production of Babes in Toyland that I jumped at the chance to join the 2001 remounting of the show. This time around I played the role of Roderigo, the brainier of Mr. Barnabys two evil henchmen. I never get to be a bad guy, so I relished the opportunity! I still got the same rush of excitement as I walked through Lincoln Center Plaza on the way to the stage door, even if I only got to do it for one day! Along with the two regular performances of the show, the cast, crew and musicians volunteered their time to perform the show a third time for families affected by the tragedy on September 11th.

Its fun to be a baddie! Heres Erik Nelson and yours-truly as evil henchmen Roderigo and Gonzorgo.
Bo Peep (Jane Thorngren) pauses for a Kodak moment in the Creepy Forest.
Were only mean to him onstage! We promise! Clowing around with Tom the Pipers Son (Sal Sabella) backstage.
The Citizens of Toyland gather for a quick photo before taking the stage at Lincoln Center!
Jack (Michael Hammerstrom) and Jill (Mary Ann Hu) goofing around during dress rehearsal.
Roderigo (thats me), Barnaby (Tim Salamandyk) and Gonzorgo (Erik Nelson). We make being evil into quite a bold fashion statement!
