One of my greatest passions is bringing quirky characters to life in the world of musical theatre, but it has always been a dream of mine to share some of my own thoughts and energy via a solo CD. Well, I'm proud to say that this dream has become a reality as I announce the release of my first complete studio recording! With the help of David Snyder’s incredibly creative arrangements, the theatre, cabaret and pop songs I've chosen to record come together as a song cycle, starting from the rush of first love to heartbreak and then back to loving again. Listen to song clips from each of the tracks from Where Is Love... in the Online Shop, and receive free shipping when you purchase more than one CD!
Over the past year, I've been spending some time sweating in the studio to get the ball rolling on a very exciting new project: a 2-person song and dance act! Alongside my incredibly talented long-time friend Melissa Giattino, we've crafted Two on Tap, an hour-long revue of Broadway melodies, great tap choreography, and witty banter that will be sure to charm the dowdiest audience member (or cruise ship passenger . . . or corporate bigwig . . . or, well, you get the idea!) Come see us as we start appearing in concert and cabaret venues around the country! We PROMISE that our fun blend of sung standards and fancy footwork will bring a smile to your face:RECENT SHOWS:

Who doesn't love the music of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons? All those amazing melodies and tight harmonies... and SO many hit songs! Seems like tap dancing is the theme for 2010! Most recently... a repeat engagement as The Purser in Marcia Milgrom Dodge's production of Anything Goes! This time around, I headed to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre in South Florida for a wonderful six-week working vacation (right near my family home in West Palm Beach.) It was so great to be rejoining old castmembers, meeting new ones, and spending some great quality time with my family as I reveled in some gorgeous Cole Porter tunes.
Rehearsals for Anything Goes began on February 16th, with Opening Night taking place on Tuesday, March 9th at 7:30pm. Shows continued every Tuesday through Sunday until closing night on Sunday, March 28th. Photos and more coming soon!
One of my most favorite career highlights thus far has been my work with the new musical Convenience, a contemporary sung-through show that explores the dynamics of family relationships and the secrets we hide from our loved ones to "protect" them. I've had four different opportunities to enjoy composer Gregg Coffin's wonderful score and emotional lyrics: two NYC showcases and two full productions at the Geva Theatre in Rochester, NY. Well, the Geva 2002 cast assembled once again for an exciting one-night concert production of the show to benefit the theatre's new musical development program. I reprised my roles of Young Vince (the 6-year-old "ghost" version of the male protagonist) and Ethan (Vince's sassy boyfriend).Convenience In Concert, starring: Jim Poulos, Mary Jo McConnell, Melissa Rain Anderson, Martin Vidnovic and Ron DeStefano
Date: Monday, March 15th, Geva Theatre, Rochester, NY
This past holiday season, I played the roles of Bob Cratchit and Scrooge at 17 in New York Stage Originals' Scrooge in Concert , a gorgeous symphonic retelling of the familiar Dickens Christmas tale. This particular show proved to be a special reunion, since this same version of Scrooge was the first professional acting job I booked after moving to New York City back in 1996! This time around, we performed the show to appreciative audiences in Troy, New York (December 11th), New Brunswick, New Jersey (December 12th) and Oxford, Mississippi (December 18th). An exciting highlight of the tour was participating in a live broadcast of our final show on Mississippi Public Radio, which was streamed live throughout the world via the magic of the internet! More info and pictures from this show coming soon!
This past season . . . I joined The Lolli-POPS in five different shows this year: Peter and the Wolf (demonstrating how music can relate to characters), Animal Tales (based on the Caldecott Award-winning children’s book Make Way for Ducklings), Things That Go Bang (an exploration of rhythms and beats), The Orchestra, A Happy Family (discussing each member of the four families of the orchestra), and Music Tells A Story (showing how music and pictures go together in our minds),
All Lolli-POPS concerts during the fall and winter took place at New York City's Gerald W. Lynch Theatre (899 Tenth Avenue between 58th and 59th Streets). All Lolli-POPS concerts in the spring took place at New York City's Kaye Playhouse (East 68th Street between Park & Lexington Avenues).
Music Tells A Story — Saturday 5/15 and Sunday 5/16, 2010
The Orchestra, A Happy Family — Saturday 2/6 and Sunday 2/7, 2010
Peter and the Wolf — Saturday 10/3 and Sunday 10/4, 2009
Animal Tales — Saturday 10/24 and Sunday 10/25, 2009
Things That Go Bang! — Saturday 12/5 and Sunday 12/6, 2009
Recently . . . I took part in the annual New York Musical Theatre Festival as a cast member of Hurricane: A New Musical. This beautiful new show tells the stories of coastal Napatree, Rhode Island and its inhabitants before, during, and immediately following the Great Hurricane of September 21, 1938. Owing to bureaucratic incompetence, this killer storm made landfall unannounced, with a path of destruction through the east coast that took more than 600 lives and effectively erased Napatree from the map. As one of the "ghosts" of Napatree, I had the wonderful opportunity to sing some of the richest and most intricate parts of composer Michael Holland's beautiful score, echoing New England folksong and big band jazz.
Rehearsals began in New York City on September 1st, 2009, and performances took place September 28th @ 8pm, October 1st @ 9pm, October 3rd @ 5pm and 9pm, October 6th @ 5pm, October 9th @ 5pm, October 10th @ 9pm and October 13th @ 5pm. Photos and more info coming soon!
Also recently . . . I returned to the unbelievably delightful Alpine Theatre Project in an unbelievably delightful role: Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicles the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling bee championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony-Award winning team created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time. Playing a boy scout and champion of the 24th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, I returned to defend my title... but might have found puberty hitting at an inopportune moment!
Rehearsals began in Whitefish, Montana on June 16th, 2009, and performances took place Tuesdays through Sundays beginning Thursday, July 9th, with the final performance taking place on Sunday, July 26th. Photos and more info coming soon!
Also recently... I appeared with NYC's fanciest vocal trio The Fabulous Pink Flamingos on May 18th, 2009 as we took part in the 2009 MAC Awards Ceremony. Honoring the best of Manhattan cabaret artists, this awards ceremony was a star-studded and musically-fantastic event, made even a little spicier with one of our signature numbers! Andrea Marcovicci and Nancy Witter co-hosted the MAC Awards at BBKings Blues Club in midtown Manhattan, which featured performances by MAC Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Polly Bergen as well as Klea Blackhurst, Tyne Daly, Karen Mason, Marilyn Maye, John McDaniel, Rex Reed, Steve Ross and Julie Wilson. Keep your fingers crossed: maybe next year we'll be nominated for a MAC Award of our very own!
Before that . . . I played the role of Adolfo Pirelli in Sweeney Todd at the Geva Theatre in Rochester, New York! One of Sondheim's most masterful musicals, Sweeney Todd tells the 19th-century story of barber Benjamin Barker, wrongfully imprisoned and separated from his family. When he returns to London years later, he vows to take his revenge, no matter how how bloody. As the flamboyant barber (and local competition) Pirelli, I got to give Barker/Todd a run for his money . . . with some rather unfortunate results!
Rehearsals began on January 21st, 2009, and preview performances began on Wednesday, February 18th. Opening night took place on Friday, February 21st with a final performance on Sunday, March 29th. Photos and more info coming soon!
Last year . . . I fulfilled another long-time dream of mine by lending my speaking and singing skills to a full-length animated movie entitled The Champion! As William, a young publishing-house employee who is caught in a fight between love and ambition, I worked both my comic and leading-man chops to figure out whether or not to get the girl or get ahead! Recording sessions took place throughout the fall . . . there's nothing better than showing up for 'performances' without even having to shave! More details on the results of this exciting project coming soon . . .
